Newlands Holiday Park is supporting the Charmouth community through fundraising, local partnerships and by opening its facilities to children and youth groups.
Throughout the year, the park has hosted monthly quizzes in support of Charmouth Heritage Centre, raising nearly £500 so far. As well as generating valuable funds, the quizzes provide a regular opportunity for guests and members of the wider community to come together while supporting an organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting the area’s local heritage.
The park has also been making its facilities available to local children. During a recent spell of hot weather, pupils from Charmouth Primary School were invited to use the park’s outdoor swimming pool free of charge, giving them the chance to cool off after a morning of lessons.
Following the success of the session, Newlands is continuing its support by welcoming local Girl Guides for a free swimming session. Scouts have also been able to enjoy the pool at a reduced rate earlier in the year.
These activities reflect the close relationship between Newlands Holiday Park and the community around it. By opening up its facilities, supporting local organisations and creating opportunities for young people to enjoy activities close to home, the park is making a positive contribution to life in Charmouth that extends well beyond the traditional role of a holiday park.
