When a much-loved village bakery faced closure in 2023, Riverside Caravan Park stepped in to help secure its future. The park purchased the building and invested £250,000 into restoring and protecting the business, ensuring it could continue serving the local community for years to come.
The bakery, based in Brantham, Suffolk, has long been at the heart of village life. By safeguarding the business, Riverside not only preserved an important community asset but also protected more than a dozen local jobs and supported the wider local economy.
Riverside’s commitment to the community extends beyond the bakery itself. The park also donated £3,500 to the area’s wellbeing hub, helping fund vital local support services and strengthening community wellbeing.
Alongside its community investment, Riverside Caravan Park continues to support sustainability initiatives that benefit both residents and the wider area. The park recently installed a large solar array project, helping to generate renewable energy while demonstrating how holiday parks can play an active role in supporting environmental goals.
The project attracted recognition from local MP Sir Julian Smith, who praised the initiative for demonstrating how businesses can work together to support rural communities, protect valued local services and invest in the future of the area.
