The team at The Beach Caravan Park (part of the Thornley Leisure Parks group) took to the water to raise £1,275 for St David’s Hospice, helping support the specialist care it provides to patients and families across North Wales.
Taking part in a Dragon Boat Race on Llyn Padarn, Team Thornley joined local businesses, organisations and community groups for a day of friendly competition and fundraising. Despite many team members having never stepped into a dragon boat before, they won their first two races and finished sixth out of 13 teams.
Most importantly, the team exceeded its original £1,000 fundraising target, thanks to support from colleagues, holiday home owners, guests, suppliers, friends and family.
By bringing its wider park community together behind an important local cause, Thornley Leisure Parks is showing how parks can help support the charities and services making a difference in the communities around them.
