At Lynmouth Holiday Retreat, two new arrivals are helping put both the park and its corner of North Devon in the spotlight. Highland cows Eddie and Dean have become firm favourites with families after a national naming competition attracted attention from thousands of people online.
The winning names were suggested by a 14-year-old visitor and his family as a nod to the cows’ Scottish heritage, earning them a stay in one of the park’s Stargazer Geo Domes. Since then, Eddie and Dean have become part of the holiday experience themselves, with families keen to meet and photograph them during their stay.
The attention has helped raise the profile of Lynmouth Holiday Retreat nationally, with the park expecting to be close to full capacity during the summer school holidays. By creating distinctive experiences that families want to talk about, share and return for, the park is helping attract more visitors to Lynmouth, Exmoor and the wider North Devon area.
