Experience a holiday in Conwy

The town of Conwy sits in the shadow of the might fortress of Conwy Castle. Established in the Middle Ages it is rich in medieval history. Known for its historic interests and walled town, there is plenty of things to do and experience as you stroll through.

The imposing 13th-century Conwy Castle lies at the centre of the town. It is a lovely place to walk around and explore the area within the walled town. Led by Edward I of England, it was built during the years of 1283 and 1289,

Conwy is a popular seaside resort with a quaint harbour and revolutionary Telford suspension bridge. You will always find something going on along the quay, particularly during the warm summer months. Or if you prefer something more exciting take a boat tour around the coastal area. Or why not take a hike up one of the many surrounding mountains.

Visit the Smallest House in Great Britain

The smallest house in Great Britain can be found at the end of a terrace of houses on quayside at Conwy. It measures just 72 inches wide by 122 inches high and was occupied right up until 1900. Richard Jones was the last person to live in the house. He was a local fisherman who happened to be 6ft 3in! Although the house might be small, it was still a practical living space. There is just enough room for a single bed, a fireplace, and a coal bunker.

Surrounded by lush Welsh countryside and watched over by the mighty mountains of Snowdonia, Conwy is a beautiful place to visit.

Staying on a holiday park in Conwy is a good base to explore plenty of other nearby towns. Whether you drive just a few short miles to Llandudno, adventure into Snowdonia National Park or drive over to experience Anglesey.

Victorian seaside resort of Llanddudno

Llandudno is North Wales’ largest beach resort with award winning beaches and lots of holiday activities. The Victorian seaside town has maintained its traditional and authentic charm. Take a leisurely walk along its promenade or travel up to the top of the Great Orme. At the summit you’ll be rewarded with incredible views of its surrounding mountains and coastal towns.

The walk to the summit is about a mile, but why not enjoy a ride on the Llandudno Cable Care – the longest passenger cable care in Britain. At 679 feet up, you can take in the jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Bay of Llandudno, the Little Orme, the Conwy Estuary and miles out over the Irish Sea.

Just a few miles down the road from Conwy is Colwyn Bay. Another seaside town that has a lovely beach, promenade, and lots of things to see and do.

Travel south along the coast and you will find Penmaenmawr Beach, a long sandy beach with a promenade. Penmaenmawr looks out onto the Menai Straits and its many facilities make it a popular family resort.

Betws-y-Coed

Betws-y-Coed is one of North Wales’ most popular inland towns. It is the ideal place to visit if you are planning walking within Snowdonia National Park. An area of outstanding natural beauty and designated a site of special scientific interest.
