In-tents rain? Your next stay’s on us, say holiday parks

Park Holidays UK camping guests enjoy the sun – but if the skies open, so does the company’s cheque book

Park Holidays UK is offering a rain cheque to its camping, touring caravan and motorhome visitors if the weather dampens their holiday plans this summer.

The group says it will give families a free two-night pitch should the clouds open for two hours or more of continual rainfall during their stay.

Park Holidays UK says the offer could cost the business thousands of pounds – but is worth it as a “thank you” to the growing number of people choosing not to go abroad this year.

Free stay vouchers can be claimed by guests during their holiday if the weather breaks, and can be redeemed during selected dates later in the year.

Touring pitches are available at seven of the company’s top-rated parks in Devon, Essex, Kent and Sussex, all located just a short stroll from delightful beaches.

The parks also provide a wealth of indoor attractions, including swimming pools, so if the brolly goes up then nobody need feel let down.

However, Park Holidays UK says the free stay offer it is making might not be as big a gamble as some people might imagine.

The company points out that when rain is forecast for areas in southern England, the coast often remains dry as clouds are swept inland to release their payload.

But come rain or shine, Park Holidays UK says it is determined to reinforce its sunny reputation among touring guests – and has announced two additional come-ons as well.

In the first of these, the company has declared that – for a limited period only – dog surcharges will be scratched on all 2017 bookings.

Guests will also find their food and drink costs cut at a stroke if they take a mid-week break on selected days outside school holiday periods.

On arrival, they will be presented with a free pack of food and drink vouchers worth £30.00 to use in the park’s cafes, bars and restaurants.

Details of these and other regularly updated offers available to touring guests can be found on the company’s website at http://www.parkholidays.com/uk-camping-caravaning-special-offers-deals
