Holivans Mablethorpe takes top gold in Lincs tourism awards

The family owners of Holivans Mablethorpe, are celebrating after being crowned as the county’s leading provider of park holidays.  The long-established Lincolnshire holiday park scooped the top gold accolade at the Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Awards in the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year 2022 category.

Judges announced Holivans as the overall winner of the prestigious title at October’s glittering awards ceremony in Lincoln, attended by senior tourism figures from across the region.

Now the park will now be fast-tracked through to the finals national Visit England Awards for Excellence which takes place next year.

70 years of holidays in Mablethorpe

But everyone at Holivans has another reason to celebrate this autumn, because the park is marking 70 years of providing family seaside holidays in the resort of Mablethorpe.

The milestone was reached last year, but celebrations were postponed due to the pandemic.

Holivans Mablethorpe first started welcoming visitors in 1951 with just a handful of caravans in a farm pasture – but word about its superb location and friendly atmosphere quickly spread.

Today it provides more than 172 pitches including luxury lodges with private gardens and hot tubs, holiday caravans to rent and own, glamping units, and pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes.

Facilities include indoor and outdoor activities for youngsters, plus the park’s popular Tow Bar where families can relax over drinks and enjoy evening entertainment.

4th Generation Award-winning Holivans

Kelly, the fourth generation of the Rowland family, is now the CEO of the multi-award winning business, headed by managing director Gareth Rowland:

“We are immensely proud to have achieved this gold award from Lincolnshire Tourism, not least because we were up against so many other superb parks in the region,” said Gareth.

“It is especially important to us as judges were looking not just at the quality of what is provided, but also the standards of service and hospitality on offer to guests.

“Delivering this is in the hands of our friendly and hard-working staff team who always go the extra mile for customers, so they must also take a big share of the credit.

“We’re all now looking forward to the Visit England finals next year, and keeping our fingers crossed!” added Gareth.
