Golden Cap Holiday Park has shown just how powerful a holiday park can be in sustaining rural life. With a major £250,000 investment, the park purchased the village Spar and Post Office, ensuring these essential services remain open for local residents, holiday caravan owners and visitors. At a time when many rural amenities are under threat, this action has safeguarded two crucial lifelines for the community.
Working hand-in-hand with local people, Golden Cap also helped to install a defibrillator outside the Post Office and now takes full responsibility for its upkeep. It’s a practical and potentially life-saving contribution that reinforces the park’s commitment to the wellbeing of the wider community.
Golden Cap is a shining example of how holiday parks can act as stewards of rural life, protecting local services, supporting community safety, and ensuring vital amenities continue to serve future generations.
This is part of the #ParksMakePlaces campaign, celebrating how holiday parks support people, places and the planet.
