Two spotlights will be shining on Dawlish’s Cofton Holidays in next month’s Devon Tourism Awards after it was nominated for honours in two separate categories.

The acclaimed family-friendly holiday park will learn of the judges’ decision on 23 November at a sparkling awards ceremony held at the Guildhall in Plymouth.

Cofton Holidays will be hoping for a repeat of its previous top gold accolade in the awards, after which it went on to be highly commended in the national VisitEngland finals.

Earlier this year, Cofton gained a maximum 5-Pennant Gold accreditation in the AA’s Caravan and Camping Awards, recognised as the Oscars of the touring sector.

Helen Scott, director of Cofton Holidays, said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted in both the sustainable tourism and best holiday park categories of the Devon Tourism Awards.

“Over the past year, we’ve worked long and hard to create a high-quality customer experience founded on a sustainable approach to operating our business.

“We’ve invested heavily in our biomass hub alongside a host of other environmentally friendly initiatives, including sourcing and celebrating local produce, and supporting local good causes.

“The park has also introduced extra first-class accommodation, and additional customer experiences such as our new Woodland Adventure area, which is free for everyone to use.

“As a family business of over forty years, we know just how important it is to create an experience that guests want to share and return to year after year, and generation after generation.

“It takes passion as well as investment, and also required a dedicated team of fantastic staff who come together year-round to make our guest’s holidays truly memorable,” added Helen.

Successful businesses in the Devon Tourism Awards will be fast-tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards next February 2018 – and may go on to represent Devon in to the VisitEngland finals.
