With more than 50,000 holidaymakers exploring Darwin Forest and Sandybrook Lodges each year, keeping people safe in the surrounding Peak District landscape is a top priority for Pinelodge Holidays. That’s why the team proudly supports Derby Mountain Rescue Team (DMRT) as a Platinum Sponsor, helping ensure lifesaving support is always available when it’s needed most.
It costs around £65,000 a year to keep DMRT operational. Through regular and significant financial contributions, Pinelodge Holidays helps sustain the team’s 24/7 emergency response, which in the past year alone saw volunteers attend 86 incidents. These ranged from rescuing injured walkers and climbers to supporting police searches and assisting during urban flooding.

Darwin Forest also plays an active role in raising awareness and inspiring future rescuers. A family-friendly activity day hosted at the park introduced visitors to survival skills, first aid and navigation challenges – raising an additional £700 for DMRT while bringing the work of mountain rescue closer to the community.
Beyond rescue services, Pinelodge Holidays continues to back a wide range of local causes across the Peak District, from hospice fundraising to community sports sponsorships, strengthening safety, resilience and community spirit throughout the region.

This is part of the #ParksMakePlaces campaign, showcasing how holiday parks support people, places and the planet.
