Holiday Park in Paignton Raises £1,700 for RNLI Lifesavers
Beverley Holidays in Paignton has raised more than £1,700 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in recognition of its vital work keeping people safe along the South Devon coast. The money was raised through a series of special events organised by Beverley Holidays during 2026, involving the park team, holiday guests and holiday home owners.
Beverley Holidays Supports the RNLI
The RNLI is Beverley Holidays’ chosen charity for the year, and park director Claire Flower says there will be more fundraising to come over the next few months.
“This cause is very close to the hearts of everyone here, not least because the sea is such a big part of everyone’s holidays in south Devon,” said Claire.
“Whether people are swimming, paddleboarding, building sandcastles or simply enjoying a day out on the beach, the RNLI pays a vital role in keeping everybody safe.
“Supporting their volunteers and the work that they do along this stretch of coastline feels incredibly important to us,” she said.
A Holiday Park in Paignton with Strong Coastal Connections
Family-run Beverley Holidays overlooks the waters of Torbay and has been welcoming holidaymakers to the English Riviera for over 70 years.
One of the highlights of its fundraising initiatives in 2026 came at Easter when the park received a visit from the RNLI’s much-loved mascot, Stormy Stan. Stormy Stan’s appearance helped bring the charity’s work to life for younger guests and families, while raising awareness of the wide range of activities carried out by the organisation.
Celebrating 25 Years of RNLI Lifeguards
More recently, Beverley Holidays joined national celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the RNLI keeping Britain’s beaches safe through its lifeguard service. Helping to mark the event at the park was its own lifeguard team, who were joined by long-time guest Simon Young, who works for the RNLI as a software engineer.
Simon and his wife Hanna, who spent holidays at Beverley as a child, and their daughter have been visiting the park for over ten years from their home in South Wales. The occasion was used to share vital beach and water safety advice with guests, including choosing lifeguarded beaches, checking tide times and understanding the meaning of beach flags.
Supporting Lifesaving Work in South Devon
The funds raised by Beverley Holidays will help support the RNLI’s lifesaving work, including its volunteer lifeboat crews who operate from Torbay Lifeboat Station in Brixham.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our fundraising throughout the rest of 2026,” said Claire who is national chair of the Holiday and Residential Parks Association (HARPA).
