South West Holiday Park of the Year 2022

Highlands End Holiday Park in Dorset has been crowned the South West Holiday Park of the Year 2022 at the South West Tourism Awards. The family-owned business took the top Gold accolade in the fiercely contested Holiday Park of the Year category of the annual contest.

And its sister park, Golden Cap Holiday Park at Seatown Beach, also glistened in the event when judges announced that it had taken a joint Silver award.

The awards ceremony, held in April, was attended by hundreds of tourism chiefs from Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire and the Isles of Scilly.

Double Award Success

It followed the success of Highlands End and Golden Cap in similar categories of the Dorset Tourism Awards held in February this year.

Both parks are members of the West Dorset Leisure Holidays group (WDLH) which was founded over 50 years ago by the Cox family.

It today comprises five popular holiday parks, and is owned and operated by Vanessa Cox and her husband Martin, plus their sons James and Robert.

James, who is WDLH’s group manager, said that his family and the parks’ team members were extremely proud to have scooped its latest two prestigious accolades:

“These awards from South West Tourism are a testimony to our team’s hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to adapt – especially over the past couple of years.

Delivering the best holiday experience

“Their dedication to providing the best experience possible for our guests played a major part in convincing the judges to reach their decision.

“We’re all now crossing our fingers that both parks will be selected to go forward to the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence taking place in June.

“This year promises to be a very busy and exciting one for everybody concerned!” said James.

WDLH parks variously offer luxury holiday lodges and caravans to hire and own, glamping accommodation, and pitches for motorhomes, tents and touring caravans.

Stunning Dorset Holiday Park locations

Highlands End Holiday Park provides guests with a dramatic cliff-top location and panoramic views across 99 miles of Dorset and Devon coastline.

It also boasts a well-equipped leisure club and an acclaimed bar and restaurant, all of which are popular both with holiday guests and local residents.

Golden Cap Holiday Park is surrounded by 2,000 acres of National Trust land just a short stroll from popular Seatown Beach, and with the SW Coast Path nearby.
