A family run holiday park in mid Devon is celebrating after being named Caravan and Camping Park of the Year at this winter’s Devon Tourism Awards. Yeatheridge Farm Caravan Park received the top gold accolade at a glittering awards ceremony in Exeter attended by tourism leaders from across the county.

Recognition for quality, hospitality and sustainability

Judges said the park’s high quality standards, levels of hospitality and commitment to sustainable tourism made it a very worthy winner of the category’s most prestigious honour. Located near the picture postcard village of Witheridge on the fringes of Dartmoor, the park first started welcoming visitors more than 50 years ago.

A third generation Devon family business

Yeatheridge Farm is set within the 200 acre grounds of the Hosegood family’s sheep and beef farm and is now owned by James and Collette Hosegood, the third generation to run the business James says the family has invested significant time and effort over the years to create first class surroundings and facilities for visitors to some of Devon’s finest countryside. Their efforts have been rewarded with a five star quality grading from Visit Devon, a raft of glowing online reviews and a large and loyal customer base from both the UK and overseas.

A tranquil countryside setting

James Hosegood said that Yeatheridge Farm Caravan Park has long attracted visitors seeking a tranquil and peaceful setting who share a love of the natural world.

“There is an amazing range of woodland and country trails around the park, and the chance to spot some of the abundant wildlife which the area sustains,” he said. We endeavour to make our park a match for these glorious surroundings, and it’s wonderful to have our efforts recognised at the Devon Tourism Awards.

We’re delighted too that judges highlighted the levels of hospitality and the warmth of welcome which visitors enjoy when they stay at Yeatheridge Farm. Delivering this is very much in the hands of our fantastic park team, so they also deserve a large share of the credit for helping us achieve this award,” added James.

Ongoing investment in wildlife and sustainability

New projects being undertaken by James and Collette include planting hundreds of high pollen bearing blooms to provide vital foraging for honey bees and butterflies across the park.

Yeatheridge Farm Caravan Park is an active member of the Holiday and Residential Parks Association.
