Wales Park Marks 75 Years of Making Happy Holiday Memories

Seventy-five years of providing memorable fresh air holidays in North Wales are being celebrated this year by a family run seaside holiday park.
Maes Dolau Caravan Park, a long established holiday park near Llandudno, is marking its anniversary with a programme of events. Many involve the owners of the 100 holiday caravans in its grounds.
These will include fundraising activities for Manchester’s Christie Hospital which has been chosen by Maes Dolau as its 2025 charity of the year.
Independent and Family Run
The park was founded in 1950 and was taken on in 1994 by former poultry farmer Rikki Proffitt and his wife Helen. Their daughter Kelly now runs the business.
Over the years, Rikki and Helen invested much time and energy into creating first class surroundings for their holiday guests. Their commitment helped Maes Dolau gain a reputation as one of North Wales’s most welcoming and best cared for parks for families seeking peaceful rural getaways.
Kelly says she is proud to carry forward her parents’ determination to provide the best possible experience for customers:
“Our holiday home owners come from both sides of the Welsh border but all share a similar love for this beautiful part of the world where we are based” she said.
“The park really is in a privileged location being just a short distance from one of Wales’s most popular coastal towns with its historic promenade and famous pier.
“Many other fantastic destinations are also close by including Colwyn Bay, the Conwy Valley and Snowdonia and there are some great walks starting from the park.
“Maes Dolau does seem to inspire a lot of loyalty among customers and one family from St Helens in Merseyside has owned a holiday caravan here for 58 years.
“Everyone is delighted to be celebrating this milestone anniversary with us and we look forward to many more decades of showcasing Welsh hospitality at its best” said Kelly.

In September the park hosted an afternoon tea celebration in its grounds for all holiday home owning families.
