Phil finds his ideal location at picture-perfect North Wales holiday park

When property guru Phil Spencer wanted to showcase the beauty of a North Wales holiday park for a recent episode of Location, Location, Location, it was Wrexham which ticked all the boxes.

Plassey Holiday Park, Phil’s Channel 4 producers decided, would make the perfect backdrop to a key segment in the show when Phil discusses the options with his house-hunting couple.

That’s why the family-owned park, a winner of multiple quality awards, found itself playing a star role on television’s most popular property programme this autumn.

“We were delighted to welcome the TV crew to our park when the filming was carried out in spring,” said John Brookshaw who owns Plassey with his wife Sarah.

The perfect North Wales holiday location

“The park has amazing views across the Dee Valley, and gave Phil and his couple the chance to chat whilst taking in some of the loveliest scenery in North Wales.

“The filming certainly turned a few heads among guests on the North Wales holiday park when it took place, but we had promised not to disclose any details until after the broadcast.

“When it did go out in October, we received a flurry of enquiries after the show from people who had been captivated by the views they had glimpsed,” he said.

Making a holiday home in Wrexham

Phil’s young couple, Jack and Gemma who live in Chester, were looking for a home in the area with a budget of £400,000 so that they could enjoy outdoor activities in North Wales.

After rejecting a few possibilities, they were ecstatic when Phil finally found a village property close to Plassey Holiday Park which was taking offers over £325,000.

Their bid of £330,000 was accepted, and the deal was sealed.

Best family-run North Wales holiday park

Not that Plassey is any stranger to being in the spotlight, for its honours include being named by the AA as Britain’s top destination for campers, glampers, caravanners and motorhome owners.

It is also a member of the Best of British group of top-rated independent family-run holiday parks which offer exceptional facilities and hospitality for guests.

Plassey first started welcoming guests over 50 years ago, and John Brookshaw and Phil Spencer both share a background in farming which gave the couple plenty to talk about off-camera.

“Phil was intrigued by the many former agricultural buildings we have re-purposed at Plassey, and was very impressed by our successful diversification from livestock to staycations!” said John.
