The park has a private woodland which is home to an 8,000-year-old bluebell area and a growing red squirrel population, as well as viewpoints from where you can see over the sea to the Lake District over 40 miles away to the south, and onto the Galloway Hills over 20 miles to the north.

Kippford village is only a 15 minute stroll and has two pubs overlooking the sea and marina. The shorefront walk down the estuary of the River Urr is one of the finest in Scotland and ends at a beautiful shell, shingle and sand beach.

From Dumfries take the A711 to Dalbeattie, turn left onto A710 Solway coast road for 3.5 miles.Park entrance is on the A710 200 yards past the Kippford turning on the right.
