Park Holidays becomes Charity Donor of the Decade

Park Holidays UK has been presented with the Donor of the Decade award by the Give Us Time appeal which enables service families to reconnect after periods of separation.

The accolade was presented at the fundraising celebrations in London marking the tenth anniversary of the charity this autumn.

The event also saw Give Us Time, founded in 2012 by former Army medic Liam Fox MP, announce its first ever round of awards to its most dedicated supporters.

Amazing Donor – Give Us Time Appeal

Park Holidays UK, said the charity, was an “amazing donor” which enables over 100 families each year to enjoy no-cost holidays and to re-adjust to a life together after deployment.

The company, it added, was fully deserving of its Donor of the Decade award having put smiles on the faces of thousands of family members over the years.

Park Holidays UK operates over 40 holiday parks across Britain, and teamed up with the Give Us Time charity to ensure that its holiday gifts are enjoyed by the most deserving.

The charity matches the group’s donated holiday accommodation on its coastal and country holiday parks with military families in need of rest and rehabilitation.

Holidays for Military Families

It points out that often after six months away from home, family dynamics can change considerably and that getting back to normality can be a stressful time for all concerned.

Comments from families who have returned from a stay with Park Holidays UK are featured on Give Us Time’s website, and underline the benefits everyone enjoys.

Coming in for special praise is the quality of the accommodation and facilities on offer, and the friendliness of park staff which plays a big part in creating a relaxing atmosphere.

“We feel very humbled to have been singled out by Give Us Time for this special award in its landmark year,” said Park Holidays UK director Tony Clish.

Park Holidays helping re-discovering family bonds

“It’s a genuine privilege for us to be able to play a small part in helping Britain’s dedicated military personnel to re-discover their family bonds.

“We are grateful also to our park teams for their important role in helping families enjoy the best possible experience during their stays.

“Making a difference by supporting charities and good causes has long been part of our business culture, and goes back over 35 years to when the company was started,” added Tony.
