It’s all hush-hush despite boom at top Devon holiday park

Riviera Bay Holiday Park in Brixham
It’s bye-de-bye to cabarets at Riviera Bay, and the star billing now goes to the tranquil sounds of the sea

Families have been flocking back to Riviera Bay Holiday Park in Brixham since it came out of lockdown in July – but operators Park Holidays UK aren’t making a song-and-dance about it.

That’s because the park has re-opened minus its entertainments centre, and is instead now focussing on luxury lodge holidays in some of Devon’s most tranquil and picturesque surroundings.

Perched above St Mary’s Bay near Brixham, Riviera Bay was this summer named by the Daily Mail as one of Britain’s ten most beautifully located holiday parks.

It’s long been one of the county’s most popular park destinations, and from now on is setting out its stall as a pampering paradise for coast and countryside connoisseurs.

Creating one of Devon’s most tranquil parks

Helping it along the path has been the dismantling this spring of its entertainments centre which has played host to countless cabarets and lively floorshows over the years.

But the spectaculars won’t be over at Riviera Bay – because new luxury lodges now in its place will provide the best seats in the house for lovers of natural beauty.

And in place of song and dance are the restful sounds of the ocean, blended with the calls of the many different bird species attracted to the area.

“Bringing the curtain down on entertainment at Riviera Bay means that we are now playing to the park’s greatest strengths,” said Park Holidays UK director Tony Clish.

“It’s amazing position commands far-reaching views of Devon’s loveliest coastline and countryside, and is perfect for guests who simply want to enjoy an away-from-it-all experience.

“So now the focus will be entirely on making Riviera Bay a peaceful and gorgeously landscaped retreat providing unrivalled standards of accommodation,” said Tony.

Natural staycation focus

The new lodges at the park are placed firmly at the top end of  the holiday home rentals market.

With designer-inspired interiors, they provide levels of comfort more often associated with luxury hotel suites – but with much more generous living space.

They offer stylish kitchens with integrated appliances, full-size bathrooms, light and airy living areas, and bedrooms with king-size beds made up with top quality linen.

And right outside the door is private decking for al-fresco dining, or simply soaking up the sun.

But for guests wanting to combine tranquillity with a taste of more traditional holiday park pleasures, the solution lies less than a mile’s stroll away.

Here, Riviera Bay’s charming and also very attractive sister – Landscove Holiday Park – will welcome guests to her swimming pools, restaurant, bars, and amusements.

Top platinum holiday lodges at Riviera Bay start from £229.99 for a four-night break.
