We are ideally situated to the west of Edinburgh, where you can enjoy all the delights of Scotland’s famous capital city and then return at night to the peaceful countryside. The Park has 60 spacious level grass pitches, most with 16 amp electric hook-ups. We have an excellent amenity building with free showers, privacy vanity cubicles and a small laundry. There is also a dishwashing area and for younger children there is a fully equipped sandpit. There are delightful woodland walks from the Park to the Union Canal and Almondell Country Park. Dogs are welcome on leads and we have a dog walking area adjacent. There is a small supermarket, fish and chip shop, pubs and Chinese Restaurants in our local village, East Calder, 3 miles from the Park, with the excellent shops of Livingstone, 5 miles away, with a large new Asda, as well as the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet. En route to Edinburgh’s the Gyle Shopping Centre, including Marks and Spencers and Safeways, all with late night opening. Edinburgh Airport is just 5 miles away, as is the Royal Highland Showground where Scotland’s premier Gardening Show is held in early June, and the Royal Highland Agricultural Show at the end of June. There are also many other Shows and exhibitions there throughout the year, and we are the closest Park to the Showground, with excellent access. We are also close to the main routes to Glasgow, Stirling, the Forth Road Bridge and all routes south. |
