This year, youngsters staying at parks owned by Abbeyford Leisure in SE Scotland will truly be in the premier league of activity holidays.

For on top of the many other sports available to them, professional football coaching will now be provided by a top community football organisation based in Fife.

AM Soccer Club will be laying on training sessions for boys and girls aged five to twelve at Elie Holiday Park, just outside the seaside resort of Elie in Fife.

Sessions can also be attended by guests at the group’s nearby St Andrews Holiday Park, and St Monans Holiday Park in the East Neuk of Fife.

Established in 2006 by Heart of Midlothian and Northern Ireland assistant coach Austin MacPhee, AM Soccer Club has won plaudits the world over for its success in inspiring and developing young players.

“One of the ways we do this is through our holiday programmes across Fife,” says club co-ordinator Daniel Curnyn.

“We’re keen to reach out to as many youngsters as possible, and to give them the opportunity to enjoy the game, to build confidence, and to reach their full potential.

“That’s why we’re delighted to create this exciting new link with Abbeyford Leisure.” added Daniel.

Peter Davies, sales and marketing manager for Abbeyford Leisure, said: “We’ve worked with AM Soccer Club over the last three years, and have introduced hundreds of children and families to their unique way of coaching via our affiliated Abbeyford Active taster sessions at Elie Holiday Park.

“Our popular free taster sessions at Elie Holiday Park will continue over Easter and the summer school holidays, and are also open to youngsters in the local area too,” said Peter.

Other activities available on or nearby the company’s Scottish holiday parks include golf, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, walking and bird watching.
