There are many romantic holiday destinations in the UK, from the South Coast beaches to the wilds of the Scottish Highlands – but a new survey has named the Lake District as the number on spot for lovers.
In a recent poll by Premier Inn, 2,000 Brits were surveyed just in time for Valentines Day, and found that Windermere, in particular, is the romantic holiday location of choice among the majority of couples.
With a lake that extends over 10 miles long, the picturesque surrounding fells and the towns of Bowness and Windermere we couldn’t agree more. The Lakes is the perfect romantic place to plan a holiday away.
The research found that most Brits believe that many UK romantic destinations are underrated when compared to those abroad.
A place to watch the sunset – 64%, quiet and secluded areas – 58%, greenery – 44% were the most important features of a romantic destination. While more than half of those polled said visiting a romantic place with a partner keeps the relationship strong.
