Staff at a top Dorset holiday park are preparing for a massive siting operation as 80 new luxury holiday caravans are lined-up for delivery this winter.

Shorefield Holidays says the major investment in its letting fleet at Oakdene Forest Park near Bournemouth follows a record number of staycation visits in 2017.

Now, says the group, holiday guests will have the choice of some of Southern England’s most highly specified caravan holiday homes and lodges in which to stay.

Family-run Shorefield Holidays, which is preparing to celebrate its 60th anniversary next year, owns seven multi-award winning holiday parks in Dorset and Hampshire.

Oakdene, set in 55 acres of tranquil countryside near the Hurn and Avin Forest, is especially popular with families and has easy access to sandy beaches.

On-park facilities include a wide choice of activities for all ages, a bar-restaurant, and a popular showbar which hosts professional acts and singers in its nightly shows.

The 80 new holiday homes scheduled for arrival include top-end models from UK manufacturers, some with four bedrooms and others with private hot-tubs.

Simon Pollock, chairman and MD of Shorefield Holidays, said: “This investment underlines the continued success of all our parks, both for holidays and holiday home ownership.

“The popularity of the staycation looks set to continue, and we look forward to welcoming even more families as we add to our fleet of accommodation,” he added.

Established in 1958, the company has invested many millions of pounds in its parks’ accommodation and facilities over the past five years – with more to come.

In this autumn’s Hoseasons awards, the group’s Shorefield Country Park was declared the overall Diamond award winner in the South of England category.

Oakdene Forest Park also gained honours as one of the top three South of England parks in the “relax and explore” category.
